Augusta Atla (Augusta Camelia Atla Fogh) is born in 1979, Gentofte, Denmark and between the years 2003 - 2016 she has lived in London, NYC, Venice, Rome, Milan, Paris and Athens. From 2017 and onwards she lives in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Since 2017 the main interest of Augusta Atla is painting and the image of "lightfulness, balance, the emotional intimate and the everyday" in both motif, metaphorical meaning, color and body representation.

 

Augusta Atla has presented her work at internationale institutions, museums, kunsthalle, art fanow and contemporary art festivals, such as Horsens Kunstmuseum (DK), Randers Kunstmuseum (DK), VOLTA ART FAIR (CH), Kunsthal Charlottenborg (DK), REMAP4 Contemporary Art Festival (GR), Tou Scene (NO), ART ATHINA (GR), Michael Cacoyannis Foundation (GR), Institut du Monde Arabe (FR), Akademie der Künste (DE), Fundació Antoni Tàpies (ES), Tallinna Kunstihoone (EE), Brandts Museum of Photography (DK), Museet for Samtidskunst (DK), Souterrain Amsterdam (NL), New Shelter Plan (DK), SWAP ART FAIR (ES), PAO performance festival in Oslo (NO).

 

Augusta Atla has worked with and/or presented artwork at galleries such as Gallery Specta (DK), CAN Gallery (GR), Format Gallery (DK), Charlotte Fogh Gallery (DK), Avlskarl Gallery (DK), Gallery Christoffer Egelund (DK), Change and Partner Gallery (IT), AD Gallery (GR), Banja Rathnov Gallery (DK), LMN Gallery (NO).

 

Augusta Atla artwork has been bought by public art collections, e.g. Horsens Kunstmuseum (DK), The Danish Art Council (DK), The Danish Parliament (DK), Randers Kunstmuseum (DK) and Dimitris Daskalopoulos Collection (GR). 

Augusta Atla has won art prices such as Goldsmiths College Excellence Award (Uni. of London) in 2006 and an art award given by Horsens Kunstmuseum (DK) in 2007.
